These terms explain how money moves on eHelp. The current fee and refund settings are shown below this document and on every checkout and task page.
Paying for work
- The customer pays through eHelp before the work starts. Payments are processed by our payment processor (currently Razorpay).
- The amount comes from the agreed task price. Nothing about the amount can be changed in the browser.
- eHelp holds the money until the work is confirmed complete, the task is cancelled, or a dispute is decided.
Fees
- Customers pay the eHelp Service Fee (currently 10% of the task amount) on top of the task amount.
- Providers pay the eHelp Service Fee (currently 5% of the task amount), taken from the task amount before they are paid.
- When eHelp charges GST, it is added on the eHelp Service Fee only (never on the task amount): the customer pays GST on their fee, and GST on the provider's fee is deducted with that fee. While GST is not charged, no GST is added or deducted.
- Payment processing charges (Razorpay) are paid by eHelp and are never deducted from a provider's earnings.
- The full breakdown is shown before you pay and is saved with the payment. A later change of fees or GST never changes a payment already made.
Release to the provider
When both sides confirm the work is done, the provider's earnings are released to their eHelp balance, after any settlement delay shown on the task page. If the provider marks the work complete and the customer does not respond, the task may be confirmed automatically after the period shown on the task page, never while a dispute is open.
Extra work
If more work is needed, the provider can ask for an extra payment. Nothing is charged unless the customer approves and pays it.
Tips
- After a completed paid task, the customer can add an optional tip for the provider, once per task.
- The customer is charged exactly the tip. eHelp takes no fee from tips and no GST is added.
- A fixed payment-processing fee of 3% of the tip is taken from the tip to cover card / UPI charges, so the provider receives 97%. The full breakdown is shown before paying.
Payouts
- Providers request a payout of their available balance to a UPI ID or bank account in their name, within the minimum and maximum amounts shown. One request can be open at a time.
- eHelp transfers payouts manually and records the bank / UPI reference. Each payout has a statement showing the task amounts, eHelp fees, any GST on those fees and the net amount paid.
- Payout details are stored encrypted.
- Payouts can be held while an account is suspended or under review, or while a related dispute is open. Earnings are not removed because an account is suspended; an admin decides what happens after a review.
Refunds
Refunds are made to the original payment method, following the Refund and Cancellation Policy or a dispute decision. How long a refund takes to reach you depends on your bank or card provider.
Invoices and taxes
eHelp issues a tax invoice (when GST is charged) or a receipt (when it is not) for each payment, and a credit note for each refund. GST is only charged once eHelp is registered and has switched GST on; until then receipts say that GST is not applicable. Providers are responsible for taxes on their own earnings.
Payment problems
If a payment fails, nothing is charged for that attempt and you can try again. Card chargebacks and payment disputes raised with your bank may freeze the related money while they are resolved.
Payments outside eHelp
Paying or asking for payment outside eHelp for work found or agreed on eHelp is not allowed and is not protected by eHelp in any way.
eHelp Pro membership
eHelp Pro is an optional paid membership. The current price and period are shown on the eHelp Pro page before you pay.
- Each payment gives one period of Pro. Nothing renews or is charged automatically; we remind you before it ends.
- Paying again while Pro is active adds a new period after the current end date.
- Pro gives a PRO badge, an always-on online dot, a cover photo slider and an "Available to help" status. It does not change your position in normal search results, and it does not buy a verification: the ID check is free, works the same for everyone, and can still be declined.
- eHelp may end a membership early if the account is suspended or closed under the Terms.
- If you think you were charged in error, contact the Support Center.
Sponsored placement
Sponsored placement is an optional paid plan for helpers and service providers. The current price, any GST and the period are shown on the Sponsored page before you pay.
- It shows your helper profile and services in "Sponsored" slots above the results on Helpers, Services and category pages, only when they match what the customer searched. Several sponsors share the slots in rotation, so a position is never guaranteed.
- It also moves you up in "Recommended" results. Reviews, completed work, verification and distance still count, so a better match can still rank above you.
- Wherever a sponsored member appears, their card is clearly labelled "Sponsored", so customers know the position was paid for.
- Each payment gives one period. Nothing renews or is charged automatically. Paying again adds a new period after the current end date.
- GST is added on top while eHelp charges GST, and a tax invoice is issued. Otherwise a receipt is issued.
- Sponsored placement does not verify anyone or make them more trustworthy. eHelp may end it early if the account is suspended or closed under the Terms, or if the listing breaks the Community Guidelines.
Currency
Prices and payments are in Indian rupees (INR) unless a page clearly says otherwise.
