Reviews help members decide who to work with. They only work if they are honest.
How reviews work on eHelp
- Only the customer and the provider on a completed task can review each other, once each.
- A review can be edited for a limited time after it is written.
- The reviewed member can reply publicly, once.
- A member's rating counts one review per reviewer, so many reviews from the same person do not add up.
What reviews should be
Honest and based on your own experience of the task: the work, communication, timing and value. Negative reviews are allowed. We do not remove a review because it is negative or because the member does not like it.
Not allowed in reviews or replies
- Fake reviews, reviews about something that did not happen, or reviews written for someone else.
- Review trading: giving good reviews in exchange for good reviews, discounts, refunds or payment.
- Extortion: threatening a bad review, or offering to remove one, to get money, a refund or extra work.
- Threats, harassment, hate or abuse.
- Personal information such as phone numbers, addresses or email addresses.
- Mentions of paying outside eHelp.
- Content that is not about the task.
How we protect reviews
We look for patterns such as members repeatedly exchanging top ratings, reviews that threaten or pressure, and new accounts rating the same person. These are reviewed by people; nothing is removed just because a pattern was detected.
Reporting a review
Use the Report link on the review or reply. If a review breaks this policy, eHelp may hide it (it then stops counting in the rating). The text is kept as a record.
