eHelp is not an emergency service
If someone is in danger, badly hurt or seriously ill, contact local emergency services straight away. In India, dial 112 (or 108 for an ambulance where available). Do not wait for a reply on eHelp.
eHelp does not dispatch emergency responders, does not monitor requests in real time and cannot promise that anyone will respond to a request, or respond quickly.
eHelp is not a medical service
- eHelp does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.
- Ordinary members who help are not medical professionals, and must never be treated as if they were. Nothing on eHelp means a member can give medical treatment.
- eHelp does not currently verify medical or health qualifications.
The Medical Support and Emergency Assistance categories
These categories are for non-clinical help around medical situations, such as:
- transport to and from a hospital or clinic;
- keeping someone company at a hospital or appointment;
- helping an older person or someone with limited mobility get around;
- picking up medicines that have already been prescribed;
- help with hospital forms and paperwork;
- staying with someone until family members arrive;
- basic practical help at home after a hospital stay.
They are not for medical care, nursing, giving or adjusting medication, or any decision about someone's treatment.
What is coming
eHelp plans a dedicated Emergency and Medical Assistance feature with clearer guidance, professional verification for health professionals, and emergency-service prompts. Until then, the rules above apply.
Your responsibility
When you ask for or give help in these categories, use your judgement, involve medical professionals for anything clinical, and follow the Safety Policy.
