eHelp works because people trust each other enough to ask for help and to offer it. These guidelines apply everywhere on eHelp: communities, posts and comments, messages, requests, services, offers and reviews.
What belongs here
- Questions: ask anything you genuinely need help with.
- Discussions: share views respectfully, even when you disagree.
- Recommendations: point people to things that helped you.
- Genuine Community Help: free, voluntary help between members.
- Local information: useful news and tips about your area.
- Useful knowledge: guides, how-tos and experience you want to share.
What does not
- Scams and fraud: fake offers, fake profiles, phishing, requests for money under false pretences.
- Harassment: insulting, bullying, stalking or repeatedly contacting someone who does not want it.
- Threats: threatening anyone with harm, or with a bad review unless they do something.
- Spam: repeated posts, unrelated advertising, chain messages.
- Illegal activity: anything that breaks the law or helps someone else break it.
- Hate and abuse: attacks on people for who they are, including their religion, caste, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, disability or background.
- Off-platform payment solicitation: asking people to pay you directly, sharing UPI IDs, payment links or bank details, or offering a "discount" for dealing outside eHelp.
- Misleading commercial activity: hidden advertising, fake reviews, or passing off paid promotion as a personal recommendation.
- Dangerous content: instructions or encouragement that could get someone hurt.
Free help and paid work
Community Help is free. If help turns into paid work, hire through eHelp with a custom offer, a paid request or a service, so the customer pays eHelp first and the money is held until the work is done. Contact details and payment details are not allowed in posts and comments.
Community moderators
Community owners, admins and moderators can remove posts and comments that break their community's rules or these guidelines, and can restrict or ban members from their community. They cannot see your private information, messages or payments. eHelp can also act on any community, including suspending it.
If you see something wrong
Use the Report link next to it. Reports are private: the member is not told who reported them. You can also block a member so they cannot contact you. If you are in danger, contact local emergency services first (in India, dial 112).
What happens if the guidelines are broken
Depending on how serious it is: content removal, a warning, a community restriction or ban, a restriction of features on eHelp, suspension, or permanent closure. See the Account Suspension and Termination Policy.
